Cape Moon is a solo for French Horn and Piano from the collection Scenes from the Cape.  This collection is dedicated to my brother, Jerry Nelson, who was a musician and puppeteer with the Muppets. 

This MRNS Music Digital Download will include the horn and piano parts, SmartMusic accompaniment files, piano accompaniment MP3's, and a brief description of the solo.

Description:  “Cape Moon” was inspired by viewing a full moon over the dunes on the ocean side of Truro, Massachusetts.  This lyrical solo is designed to be an easy introduction to 3/4 time and slurring technique.  There are three versions of this solo for the French Horn.  There is one in the key of Concert F that features the best range for the horn.  There is a Bb Concert version that goes up to a D in the staff.  I also included low version in the key of Bb for those students that need to work on their low register.  I left in the low E in measure 28 just for fun;-)
